The Practice of Tantra

In the practice of tantra there are two ways to go. There is the right hand of tantra and the left hand of tantra. There is red tantra and black tantra. The difference is that one path includes others. It could be just the master showing you the way to enlightenment or it could be in a group setting. Tantra is not considered an act of sex and therefore may be shared with others.

In the western world we saw things differently. We saw it as a very definite sex act and, “You are going to do what to my naked wife’s what? I don’t think so!” Almost overnight there were books and videos and all means of other media teaching tantra at home. There are some very good ones and some that just touch on the basics and you have to keep buying more and more.

Learning tantra together is not hard. Get the right mind set. Learn a few basic practices and the rest is up to you. Together you decide what is right for you. What feels good, what makes you feel safe. It is not like you are going to be showing it to anyone.

The next enticement is the retreats. Going away to some beautiful place to learn more about Tantra sounds great. Read the information carefully. You are going with several other couples. Some offer a degree of privacy but you still have the God or Goddess of the retreat “showing” you how to do things. You may be paying thousands of dollars to watch someone else put their hands on your naked wife. Again I say, “I don’t think so!” or at the least watching him do it to his naked wife.

If you want to get away-Go! Find a place for the two of you where you feel safe, comfortable and alone. There should be no phone, no internet, and no television. Bring some new age music a bottle of wine and practice your little hearts out.
